TIL that, because of opera house staff error, Keith Jarrett’s The Köln Concert, best-selling solo album in jazz history and best-selling piano album in history, was played on almost broken piano, usually used just for rehearsals. If you can find the original (it’s not on Spotify!)… the only way to describe it … is a master exploring a new toy – “what if I do THIS to you??? “. It gives me chills every time I listen to it.
